WNYC Profiles KLLF Client Subjected to Illegal Strip Search

WNYC and Gothamist ran a story featuring KLLF’s former client James Jenkins, who won a civil rights lawsuit last year against two Nassau County Police Department officers, proving they falsely arrested him and illegally strip searched him in the middle of the street. WNYC used James’s story to highlight the shocking statistic that, “over the last six years, not a single one of the 144 civilian complaints of false arrest and excessive force against Nassau police officers has ever been classified as ‘founded’” — even where a court has found that officers violated the law.
