Murder Charges Officially Dismissed Against Wrongfully Convicted CT Man
Seven months after a Connecticut court overturned KLLF client Adam Carmon’s murder conviction, the charges were officially and finally dismissed Tuesday, June 13, 2023. The dismissal comes after the court found that New Haven police and prosecutors had hid exculpatory evidence and that the forensic evidence used to convict Mr. Carmon was “invalid” and “fallacious.”
In the courtroom yesterday, where Mr. Carmon was accompanied by KLLF partner Doug Lieb and co-counsel David Keenan, the judge told Mr. Carmon: “I cannot return to you the 28 years of life” he spent in prison, but “I can give you the certainty that this long nightmare is finally over.”
